Udaipur, A two-day Second Temporal Bone Dissection Workshop commenced today at Pacific Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), Udaipur, organized by the Department of Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT). The workshop will continue until September 7.
The inauguration was graced by Dr. Vinay Vijayendra, Bengaluru, Dr. A.K. Gupta, Senior ENT Specialist, Dr. M.M. Mangal, President of Pacific Medical University, Dr. U.S. Parihar, Principal of PMCH, Dr. Richa Gupta, Head of ENT Department and Workshop Chairperson, along with Dr. S.S. Kaushik, Organizing Secretary and Course Director. The event began with the traditional lamp-lighting before Goddess Saraswati.
A Significant Step in Medical Education
Addressing the gathering, Dr. M.M. Mangal, President of PMU, stated that the workshop is a vital initiative in the field of medical education. It not only benefits ENT specialists but also inspires young medical professionals.
Chairperson Dr. Richa Gupta highlighted that the workshop is designed to train ENT surgeons in the anatomy of the temporal bone, various surgical procedures such as mastoidectomy, facial nerve decompression, and implant surgeries.
Organizing Secretary Dr. S.S. Kaushik emphasized that the purpose of the workshop is to provide ENT practitioners, trainees, and students with exposure to the latest dissection techniques and a deeper understanding of surgical anatomy. Participants are being offered hands-on training to enhance their surgical expertise.
Practical Training and Technical Insights
The workshop combines theoretical insights with practical training sessions, giving participants exposure to modern ENT surgical techniques. The sessions are being led by Course Directors Dr. Vinay Vijayendra and Dr. S.S. Kaushik, with Dr. Mahesh V.K. and Dr. Shweta Anand serving as Co-Secretaries.
