incessant heavy rainfall on 6 September had severely disrupted electricity supply to several villages connected to the 33/11 KV power substation at Ogna village, Jhadol subdivision, after the swift river currents swept away the 33 KV transmission line. As a result, thousands of consumers faced a complete power outage.
Acting on the directives of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, District Collector Namit Mehta, along with the district administration, accelerated relief measures to normalize conditions in the flood-affected areas. In this effort, electricity department personnel displayed remarkable courage and commitment, braving waist-deep flowing waters to restore the damaged line. Within just three days, supply was successfully reinstated.
According to AVVNL Superintending Engineer K.R. Meena, staff members risked their lives by entering the water to repair the line and resume power supply for consumers. Villagers expressed immense relief and praised the department’s prompt and dedicated action.
This operation has been hailed as a striking example of sensitivity, teamwork, and service spirit within the electricity department.
