Consumer Rights Group Submits Memorandum Over ₹19 Lakh Irregular Collection

Demand for Action Against Illegal Parking at Kota Medical College

Kota, September. The Akhil Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat, Kota branch, has raised serious concerns regarding unauthorized and illegal vehicle parking operations at the city’s largest hospital, Kota Medical College. The organization has alleged that in the past seven months, patients, attendants, and visitors have been subjected to irregular parking fee collections amounting to nearly ₹19 lakh, accompanied by incidents of misbehavior towards the general public.

In this matter, the Kota branch submitted a memorandum to the Additional District Collector, demanding immediate and strict action against those responsible.

Branch President Advocate Kushal Gupta and Secretary Advocate Sonam Vijayvargiya jointly stated that unauthorized groups, in alleged collusion with certain responsible authorities, are illegally running vehicle parking within the premises of the new hospital. Patients and their families are being harassed through unauthorized fee collection slips issued in the name of parking, despite no official authorization for such charges.

The Grahak Panchayat emphasized that such exploitation of vulnerable patients and their attendants is a grave violation of consumer rights and undermines the spirit of public healthcare services. The organization has urged the administration to act swiftly to stop the malpractice and ensure accountability.
