Fourteen Rajasthan Players Selected for Asian Lacrosse Games

Udaipur,  A proud moment has arrived for Rajasthan as 14 players, including 9 women and 5 men, have been selected to represent India in the upcoming Asian Lacrosse Games to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Notably, in the previous edition, the Indian women’s team secured a silver medal, with seven players hailing from the tribal regions of Udaipur division.

According to Ashok Parnami, President of Rajasthan Lacrosse Association, the selected players include:

Women’s Team: Sunita Meena, Jhoola Kumari Gurjar, Meera Dauja, Dali Gameti, Yashishtha Batra, Yashoda Gameti, Roshni Boss, Mukund Kumari Gurjar, and Janvi Rathore.

Men’s Team: Mohanlal Gameti, Khumaram Gameti, Dayashankar Gameti, Nishant Nagda, and Narayan Lal Gameti.

Their selection was based on outstanding performances in the national championships and the trials held in Gorakhpur.

The achievements of these tribal-region athletes, along with their coach Neeraj Batra, were celebrated at the office premises by Pragya Kewalramani, Divisional Commissioner & Managing Director, Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Limited (RSMML), along with Executive Director Kirti Rathore, Financial Advisor Suresh Kumar Jain, GGM Projects & Contracts Naresh Ailan, GM Dr. Sunil Singh Daiya, CM Hanumant Singh, DGM B.S. Patrabat, and other officers and staff.

Their selection was warmly appreciated by Tribal Development Minister Baboolal Kharadi, Udaipur MP Mannalal Rawat, Udaipur Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena, Gogunda MLA Pratap Lal Bhil, Vallabhnagar MLA Uday Lal Dangi, Udaipur Collector Namit Mehta, UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain, and District Sports Officer Dr. Mahesh Paliwal, among others.

Result of intensive training camp

It is noteworthy that under the guidance of Divisional Commissioner Pragya Kewalramani, a two-month intensive summer training camp was jointly organized by the Rajasthan Lacrosse Association and the Tribal Area Development Department. This rigorous training enabled the players to enhance their skills and deliver remarkable performances in the international trials, ultimately leading to their selection.
