The program commenced with garlanding and lamp lighting before the portrait of Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar, the founder of Ananda Marga Pracaraka Sangha, the Microvita theory, and Prabhat Samgiita, performed by Advocate Parijat Mishra from Prayagraj. Highlighting its spiritual significance, Mishra explained that for a spiritual aspirant, Prabhat Samgiita represents divine expressions guiding the seeker toward life’s ultimate goal.
Dr. S.K. Verma, President of R.U. Club, informed that Prabhat Samgiita is a remarkable collection of 5,018 songs composed by Shrii Sarkar in eight different languages — Bengali, Sanskrit, Hindi, English, Urdu, Maithili, Angika, and Magahi. The first song, “Bandhu he niye calo”, was given on 14 September 1982 in Deoghar (Jharkhand), while the final song, “Amra gaṛe novo gurukul” (No. 5018), was composed on 20 October 1990 in Kolkata. Within just eight years, Sarkar composed songs covering diverse aspects of life — seasons, festivals, social rituals, along with hymns dedicated to Shiva and Krishna.
Dr. Verma noted that Prabhat Samgiita, filled with optimism, inspires the dawn of a new consciousness in life. It represents a new gharana (school) of music, offering immense scope for research. Many songs are based on newly created ragas yet to be named, while several extinct ragas and raginis have been revived. Singing Prabhat Samgiita is also believed to heal physical and mental ailments, as it attracts positive microvita that make the environment conducive to psycho-spiritual practices.
The program featured soulful renditions of songs such as “Pathik tumi ekaki ese,” “Tum ho mere Krishna Jagatpati,” “Jaya Shubha Vajradhara Shubhra Kalevara,” “Vishva dolaya dol diecho,” and many others, with explanations of their inner meaning.
This was followed by a continuous one-hour Akhanda Kiirtan on the maha-mantra “Baba Nam Kevalam”, along with collective meditation, chanting, and scriptural reading. Devotees from various places participated in the event, which concluded with a community feast.
The program was conducted by Dr. Vartika Jain, Secretary of R.U. Club, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Rajendra Jain.
