‘Pedal to Jungle’ Cycling Adventure to Promote Eco-Tourism in South Rajasthan

Udaipur. The lush valleys, dense forests, and scenic landscapes of Vagad–Mewar in South Rajasthan will soon host an exhilarating cycling adventure. To promote eco-tourism and draw people closer to nature, the Forest Department, Green People Society, Department of Tourism, and Bela Basera Resort are jointly organizing the 9th edition of “Pedal to Jungle” from December 18 to 21, 2025. This four-day event promises to be a unique blend of nature, tourism, and adventure.

On Sunday, Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Diya Kumari unveiled the poster of this edition during her visit to Udaipur. She praised the initiative, describing it as an excellent effort to showcase the natural beauty, biodiversity, and cultural richness of the region to the wider world. She emphasized that such events not only boost tourism but also strengthen local culture and environmental conservation.

The poster launch ceremony was attended by District Collector Namit Mehta, Additional Director of Tourism Anand Tripathi, Green People Society President Rahul Bhatnagar, Pratapsingh Chundawat, Suhel Majboor, Yaseen Pathan, V.S. Rana, and other dignitaries.

Book Presentation to Deputy CM:
On this occasion, Rahul Bhatnagar presented his newly published book “Aranyam” to the Deputy CM. The book, with a foreword written by Diya Kumari herself, is described as a vivid documentation of the forests and biodiversity of Mewar.

Adventure Meets Conservation:
The cycling expedition will take participants from across the country through forest trails, hills, and riversides, offering a firsthand experience of South Rajasthan’s natural and tribal landscapes. The organizers highlighted the key objectives of the initiative:

  • Promoting eco-tourism

  • Ensuring community participation

  • Raising awareness about biodiversity and environmental conservation

  • Inspiring youth to connect with nature through adventure sports

Tourism Boost and New Opportunities:
Organizers believe “Pedal to Jungle” is more than just a sporting or recreational event—it is a milestone in establishing South Rajasthan as a sustainable tourism hub. The initiative is expected to spread the message of forest and wildlife conservation while giving new momentum to local tourism businesses, resorts, and rural economies.
