Grand Inauguration of Tribal Scout-Guide Festival in Udaipur

Udaipur: The state-level Tribal Scout-Guide Festival, organized under the aegis of the Rajasthan State Bharat Scout and Guide Headquarters, Jaipur, was inaugurated with grandeur in Udaipur, with Divisional Commissioner Pragya Kewalramani as the chief guest.

At the opening ceremony, the Divisional Commissioner was welcomed in traditional Mewari attire, including the eklai and Mewadi pagri, along with the Scout scarf and a commemorative emblem. The distinguished guest, Mehak Sanadhya, was also felicitated in Mewari and Scout tradition.

Chief guest Divisional Commissioner Kewalramani expressed her delight at attending the festival, highlighting that it serves as a unique platform for Scouts and Guides to showcase their talents while promoting unity in diversity. She emphasized the festival’s role in character-building through educational and co-curricular activities and encouraged the youth to become responsible citizens contributing to society and the nation. She also assured full support from divisional and district administrations to ensure the festival’s success.

State Training Commissioner and Camp Director Bannalal informed that the festival includes 500 Scouts, Guides, Rovers, and Rangers from nine tribal-dominated districts of Rajasthan. Over the five-day event, participants will present their regional folk arts, folk tales, endangered tribal traditions, musical instruments, food stalls, and various cultural tableaux.

Assistant State Organization Commissioner of Udaipur Division, Manmohan Swarnkar, added that the festival includes not only cultural and adventure activities but also guided tours to several prominent sites in Udaipur.

The program was hosted by Surendra Kumar Pandey, CO Scout, Udaipur, and Om Kumari, CO Guide, Bhilwara. Organizers and Scouts from across Rajasthan are assisting in managing the event.

State Chief Commissioner Conducts Surprise Inspection
In the early hours of the festival, State Chief Commissioner Niranjan Arya conducted a surprise inspection, reviewing arrangements and interacting with divisional officials. He observed adventure-based cultural activities, Scout Guide tent pioneering, and other initiatives, encouraging participants from the nine districts of Rajasthan to actively and enthusiastically engage in the festival’s events.
