Udaipur, The Regional Directorate, Udaipur of Dattopant Thengadi National Board for Workers’ Education and Development, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, celebrated its 68th Foundation Day with great enthusiasm. On this occasion, a Regional Advisory Committee meeting was organized at the Secretariat Auditorium of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University. Representatives from various government departments, trade unions, and voluntary organizations actively participated and shared their views.
The session began with Jagdeep Singh, Ex-Officio Secretary & Regional Director (In-Charge), presenting the annual report. He emphasized that to make India a developed nation, empowering the workers’ class is vital. Singh also highlighted the benefits of schemes like E-Shram Portal, Atal Pension Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, and Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana.
Chairing the session, Prof. S.S. Sarangdevot, Vice Chancellor and Chairman of the Regional Advisory Committee, stressed the need to educate and empower workers. He remarked that despite technological progress, workers’ contribution remains indispensable. He recalled that founder visionary Pandit Nagar established the Night Labour College in 1937 to integrate workers with mainstream education.

Prince Parmar, District Industries Officer, spoke on Vishwakarma Yojana and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Rajasthan Dalit Adivasi Enterprise Promotion Scheme 2022.
Mangilal Lunawat, President, Udaipur Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the importance of workers’ and women’s education.
Bherulal, Labour Inspector, suggested integrating all welfare schemes on a single government portal.
Jayant Dwivedi, BMS, urged for a sensitive approach towards workers’ upliftment.
Subhash Shrimali, AITUC Udaipur, called for strict enforcement of the Minimum Wages Act.
The program also witnessed valuable insights on women empowerment and workers’ education from Dr. Sanjeev Rajpurohit, Balakrishna Shukla, Saurabh Gupta, Lali Salvi, Rekha Bhatnagar and others. The event concluded with a vote of thanks to all dignitaries and participants by the Workers’ Education Board, Udaipur.
