Udaipur. The 24 th Rajasthan State Conference of the Communist Party of India began on 15 th September at
Comrade Rati Ram Yadav Nagar (Gujarati Samaj Bhavan ) Udaipur with the unfurling of Party flag by senior party leaders comrade Sahja Ram Punia and comrade Chhangani . Before this the delegates took out a rally from Bhilu Rana Circle led by the national secretaries of the CPI comrade Annie Raja and Dr. Girish Sharma. The rally converged into a public meeting at the Community Hall Awari Mata Basti presided over by Comrade Jeevraj Sharma and Meera Tawad. The conference hall was named after veteran communist leader of Udaipur late Meghraj Tawad and the stage was named after party’s national secretary late comrade Atul Kumar Anjan. The conference coincides with 100 th year of the foundation of Communist Party of India. The formal conference began with the welcome address by senior journalist and activist Prof. Hemendra Chandalia, Chairman of the reception committee .In his address he greeted the delegates, remembered the veteran communist leaders of the region and outlined the current political scenario at the national and international level. The inaugural session was chaired by senior party leader comrade Tara Singh Siddhu. National secretaries of the CPI comrade Annie Raja and Dr. Girish Sharma Inaugurated the conference. Both Dr.Girish Sharma and Annie Raja greeted the party leaders on the completion of one hundred years of party’s existence and recalled its role in the freedom struggle of India.They also talked about the rising control of the corporate on the Indian ruling class and called for a united struggle against the fascist forces. Dr. Girish Sharma said that all the left and democratic parties, individuals and organizations should come together to save the constitution and democracy in this country. State secretary of CPI(ML) Comrade Shankar Lal Chaudhary, State President of Samajvadi Party Arjun Dan Daitha, State Committee member of CPIM Dr. Sanjay Madhav greeted the delegates and expressed their solidarity with the party. State secretary of the Communist Party of India Narendra Acharya offered a vote of thanks. On 16 th September in the business sessions a number of resolutions were passed on the national political and economic issues delineating the line of the party. One hundred sixty five delegates from different district committees participated in the conference. Forty one members for the state committee were elected. Comrade Narendra Acharya was elected as state secretary, Comrade Surajbhan Singh was elected as treasurer and four members Comrade Tara Singh Siddhu, comrade Kunal Rawat, Comrade Narendra Acharya and Comrade Kailash Gehlot were elected to participate in the national Convention of the party. District secretary Comrade Himmat Changwal who managed all the arrangements convened the conference to its success. The final vote of thanks was offered by comrade Tara Singh Siddhu.
