Allegations of Tarnishing Mewar’s Dignity and Illegal Expulsion of Students

Udaipur, Amid the ongoing grave and adverse circumstances prevailing in Mohanlal Sukhadia University, the Contract/SFS Employees’ Union (affiliated with Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh) convened an emergency meeting today at Shri Acharya Tarun Sagar Jain Bhavan, Ashok Nagar.

Union President Mr. Narayan Lal Salvi stated that in the sacred land of Mewar, blessed by the revered Maharana Pratap, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Sunita Mishra, during a symposium, had the audacity to describe Mughal invaders Aurangzeb and Akbar as “able administrators.” He added that the history of Mewar is known to the entire nation, yet a woman from another state, carrying a Mughal-oriented mindset, has hurt the sentiments of the people of Mewar.

It was also alleged that Prof. Mishra insulted the traditional Rajput attire of contractual employee Mrs. Kiran Tanwar, by referring to her Rajputi dress as the attire of a courtesan. Furthermore, the union strongly condemned the unlawful expulsion of students from the university that took place some time ago.

The organization further highlighted that their five-point charter of demands remains unresolved. Employees currently hold work orders valid only till September 30, 2025. If fresh orders are not issued by the administration before this deadline, the employees will be compelled to resume their agitation and sit on protest from October 1, 2025.

The meeting was attended by all office-bearers and members of the union. Dr. Parameer Singh Dulawat, Divisional President of Shri Karni Sena, also addressed the gathering. Concluding the session, Union President Mr. Narayan Lal Salvi assured full support to Shri Karni Sena and extended solidarity with all social and political organizations that have called for a Udaipur Bandh.
