#### Doctors Heal the Body, Spirituality Heals the Mind: Jain Saint Pulak Sagar Ji

“Doctors treat the body, but spirituality heals the mind. Most illnesses do not originate in the body but in the mind. While medicines can cure physical ailments, true healing of the inner self comes only through spirituality, pure thoughts, and surrender to the Divine,” said Jain Saint Pulak Sagar Ji Maharaj, addressing the 12th National Conference of Udaipur Course on Neurosciences.

The conference, organized by Pacific Centre of Neurosciences, Pacific Medical College & Hospital, was held at Sukhadia Auditorium, Town Hall, Udaipur. Speaking on “The Role of Spirituality in Indian Culture and Values”, Pulak Sagar Ji emphasized that Indian traditions and lifestyle are deeply rooted in spirituality, which has made India a global guide for peace, knowledge, and inner well-being.

Chairperson Rahul Agarwal and Preeti Agarwal of Pacific Medical University conveyed their best wishes to Prof. Atulabh Vajpayee, highlighting that practices such as spirituality and guided meditation can bring emotional balance and moral values into modern medical education and healthcare.

Prof. Atulabh Vajpayee, Head of Neurosciences, explained the emerging field of Neurotheology, which studies the link between the brain, nervous system, and sound therapy. He noted that mantras, music, and positive vibrations can reduce stress, depression, and mental illnesses effectively. He further stressed that when IQ (Intelligence Quotient) of the left brain and EQ (Emotional Quotient) of the right brain are harmonized, a higher dimension—SQ (Spiritual Quotient)—emerges, which fosters compassion, peace, and stress-free living.

Brahma Kumaris’ Contribution: Spiritual Science at the Forefront

The conference highlighted groundbreaking contributions from the Brahma Kumaris:

BK Girish, Senior Rajyoga Trainer, presented his research on “Soul–Brain Interface”. He explained the deep connection between the brain and the soul, coining it as the “Soul–Brain Interface.” He said modern neuroscience explores brain structure, while Rajyoga meditation awakens inner energy and consciousness. Scientific studies now prove that meditation and positive thinking bring measurable changes in brain waves, improving mental health, decision-making, and emotional balance.

BK Usha, Senior Rajyoga Teacher, conducted an inspiring session on “Spirituality and Guided Meditation in Daily Life”. She explained that spirituality is not a religious ritual but a direct connection between the soul and the Supreme. Guided meditation helps individuals reconnect with their true self as a radiant, powerful soul—beyond the body. This realization brings positivity, stability, and peace amidst today’s competitive and stressful lifestyle.

Both BK Girish and BK Usha emphasized that Rajyoga meditation is a practical tool for restoring inner peace and achieving holistic well-being, making it a vital part of modern neuro-spiritual research.

The national conference concluded with active participation from neuroscientists, spiritual leaders, and medical professionals. The program was moderated by Dr. Anand Gupta.
