‘World Anesthesia Day’ Celebrated with Cake Cutting at PMCH

Udaipur – Pacific Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) celebrated World Anesthesia Day with great enthusiasm, with participation from doctors, resident physicians, and nursing staff across various departments.

The event saw Chairman Rahul Agrawal and Dr. Prakash Audichya, Head of the Anesthesia Department, cutting a cake and extending their greetings to all attending doctors while appreciating their invaluable contributions.

Chairman Rahul Agrawal emphasized that anesthesia is a cornerstone of modern medicine, enabling surgeries to take place. He noted that while anesthetists play a crucial role behind every successful surgery, their contributions often remain unseen. He expressed pride in the hospital’s strong and proficient anesthesia department.

Dr. Prakash Audichya shared that October 16, 1846, marked the first public use of anesthesia, a milestone that revolutionized medical history. In remembrance of that day, the department celebrates World Anesthesia Day annually. He highlighted that today, advancements in anesthesiology allow even the most complex surgeries to be performed pain-free.

Dr. Audichya expressed gratitude to his team, stating that teamwork, continuous research, and modern technology enable the department to provide safe and efficient patient care.

The celebration was attended by all anesthesiologists, surgeons, and doctors from other departments, making it a collaborative and memorable event.
