Jaisalmer, During his two-day visit to Jaisalmer, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh offered prayers at the world-famous Tanot Rai Mata Temple. He was accompanied by Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and Battle Axe Commander Major General Ashish Khurana.
At the temple premises, the Defence Minister was welcomed by BSF Deputy Inspector General Jatinder Singh Binji, Commandant Neeraj Sharma, and Assistant Commandant Vikas Narayan Singh.
After performing the rituals at Tanot Mata Temple, Singh also offered water at the Mahadev Temple and tied a sacred cloth to the Khejri tree near the Mansha Mata Temple, praying for the fulfilment of wishes.
He also witnessed the unexploded bombs dropped by Pakistan during the 1965 Indo-Pak war on the temple complex, none of which detonated — a phenomenon attributed to the divine power of Tanot Mata. “I feel honoured and blessed to have visited Tanot Mata Temple. This sacred place stands as a symbol of the unwavering courage and devotion of the Indian Army and the Border Security Force,” he said.
The Defence Minister lauded the bravery, integrity, and devotion of BSF officers and personnel, acknowledging their invaluable contribution in safeguarding the nation’s borders and upholding the spirit of service to the motherland.
