Kota, October. Farmers affected by the Northern Bypass have submitted a petition to the Inspector General of Police, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Jaipur, seeking enforcement of the interim order dated July 16, 2018, passed in High Court Civil Writ Petition 9643/18 (Madholal vs. District Collector, Kota & Others). They demanded that action be taken against officers and employees who allegedly misused their positions for corrupt purposes.

According to the petition, in Northern Bypass Kota Phase-1, the DPR was originally prepared by PWD Kota and approved by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India, on July 5, 2011 (PWD Option-1). However, local political leaders, to protect the agricultural land of their favored influential farmers, allegedly colluded with district and departmental officials to illegally modify the approved PWD plan.

The UIT Kota is accused of illegally issuing a work order to CE-G Company, Jaipur, which subsequently prepared a fake DPR for the bypass. The affected farmers claim that despite these serious allegations, their complaints have not been addressed.

This situation has left the farmers frustrated, as political influence and administrative malpractice appear to have overridden both the law and their legitimate grievances.
