#### Excise Department’s Special Statewide Drive
Illegal Liquor Units and Country Stills Destroyed to Curb Illicit Alcohol Production
Udaipur, November 5:
Under the directions of Excise Commissioner Shiv Prasad Nakate, a special statewide preventive campaign is being carried out to curb the manufacture, storage, transportation, and sale of illegal liquor. As part of this intensive drive, nakabandis, patrolling, and raids are being conducted effectively across the state, including in Jaipur, Bharatpur, Hanumangarh, Sri Ganganagar, and Udaipur, leading to several cases being registered.
Supervised by Additional Excise Commissioner (Administration) O.P. Jain and Additional Excise Commissioner Pradeep Singh Sangawat, the campaign follows a zero-tolerance policy against liquor smuggling, illegal transportation, and sale of illicit liquor from other states. The excise enforcement teams are conducting swift and effective actions across the regions.
In Jaipur’s Chaksu area, raids were conducted in the villages of Toddiya Chod, Kanota, Heerawala, Ram Ratanpura, and Jaichandpura, resulting in the destruction of 1,300 liters of wash and two illicit stills. In Bharatpur, action in the villages of Kurkain, Atavi, Alghani, Damodki, Baneni, and Sikri led to the seizure of 69 liters of country liquor, destruction of 5,000 liters of wash and five stills, and the registration of three cases.
Similarly, in Hanumangarh, at Gangaghat in village Gangagarh Debu, 5,000 liters of wash and six illicit stills were destroyed. In Sri Ganganagar, at village 500 LNP Shivpur Head Khat Labana, 300 liters of wash and two stills were destroyed, and one accused was arrested on the spot.
Across all districts of the state, the excise teams are continuing intensive patrolling and checkpoints under this special campaign. Following the zero-tolerance policy, zonal additional excise commissioners, excise deputy commissioners, excise officers, inspectors, and enforcement squads are ensuring firm action against all forms of illegal liquor trade and smuggling.
