##### Paras Health Udaipur Organised Health Talk to Raise Awareness on 'Act FAST' During Stroke Emergencies
Experts from the Department of Neurosciences Emphasised the Importance of Timely Response
Udaipur, To raise awareness about the identification and timely response to stroke, Paras Health Udaipur organised an informative Stroke Awareness Health Talk under the Department of Neurosciences. The session aimed to help participants recognise the early warning signs of stroke and understand the life-saving importance of acting within the “golden hour.”
The session was led by Dr. Tarun Mathur and Dr. Manish Kulshreshtha, Senior Consultants, Neurology, Paras Health Udaipur, who emphasised the globally recognised F.A.S.T. method for stroke response:
F – Face Drooping,
A – Arm Weakness,
S – Speech Difficulty, and
T – Time to Call Emergency.
Dr. Tarun Mathur highlighted, “A stroke is like a race against time. With every passing minute, more brain cells are lost. If a patient reaches the hospital within the first hour of a stroke, we have the best chance to restore normal brain function and prevent long-term complications.”
Dr. Manish Kulshreshtha added, “In India, nearly 1.5 million new stroke cases are reported every year, yet only one in four patients reach a stroke-ready hospital in time. Delay in recognising symptoms or accessing care often costs lives. Awareness and community education are crucial to bridging this gap.”
The health talk was highly interactive, with enthusiastic participation from attendees who learned practical ways to prevent stroke, reduce risk factors, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
This initiative reflects Paras Health Udaipur’s strong commitment to preventive healthcare and neurological awareness. The hospital aims to empower communities with the right knowledge to respond swiftly and appropriately during medical emergencies.
