Rural Congress delegation demands justice for displaced families of Badi Kotlia demolition

‘Parchi Sarkar Has Surpassed British Rule in Oppression’ – Kachru Lal Chaudhary

Udaipur,The recent demolition drive conducted by the Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) in Badi Kotlia, Savina Kheda, has drawn strong criticism from the Udaipur Dehat Congress. A delegation led by District Congress President Kachru Lal Chaudhary visited the affected area, met the displaced families, and demanded that they be provided with new homes along with strict action against the responsible officials.

District Congress Spokesperson Dr. Sanjeev Rajpurohit informed that the delegation inspected the site where UDA had carried out the demolition two days ago. The team urged the state government—termed as the “Parchi Sarkar” by the Congress—to immediately rehabilitate the affected families and hold the officials accountable for their arbitrary action.

Speaking to the media, Kachru Lal Chaudhary stated that since the formation of the “Parchi Sarkar,” the condition of the poor, deprived, and marginalized sections in the state has worsened. He compared the recent demolition to the oppressive actions of British colonial rule, remarking, “The so-called Parchi Sarkar has gone even beyond the British government in its cruelty.”

Chaudhary highlighted that the families living in the area had been residing there for 10 to 15 years, with electricity connections provided by the Electricity Department and drinking water facilities set up by the Public Health Engineering Department. A large water tank was also constructed in the locality. He questioned why the officials remained silent during those years and what prompted the sudden demolition without alternative arrangements for the residents.

He condemned the action as inhuman and unjust, stating that a home represents a lifetime’s savings for a person, and such demolitions have rendered many families homeless overnight. The Congress, he asserted, would not tolerate this injustice and would continue to fight for the rights of the victims.

Chaudhary demanded that the Parchi Sarkar ensure rehabilitation of all affected families and initiate disciplinary action against the officials responsible for the incident.

The delegation included District Congress President Kachru Lal Chaudhary, Spokesperson Dr. Sanjeev Rajpurohit, Zila Parishad Member Kamini Gurjar, Women Congress leader Shanta Prince, former Councillor Madan Singh Baberwal, Dinesh Audichya, Rural Congress Secretary Chandraveer Gurjar, Aabhav Abhiyog Prakoshth President Laxmi Lal Soni, Bagdi Lal Jain, Bhanwar Lal Jain, Bhagwati Dangi, Om Dangi, Chandrashekhar Sankhla, Bhuvnesh Rao, and several other Congress officials and workers.
