Udaipur — As part of the ongoing efforts to promote women’s health awareness, Dakshata Empowerment Research Institute, in collaboration with Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur, organized an awareness program on Polycystic Ovary Disease (PCOD) at Hinta village, which has been adopted by the university.
Experts Dr. Latika Vyas and Dr. Alpana Singh addressed the gathering, explaining in detail the causes, symptoms, and preventive measures of PCOD, a condition that has been increasingly affecting women. They highlighted that irregular eating habits, stress, lack of physical activity, and changing lifestyles are major contributing factors. Early recognition of symptoms and timely medical consultation can help in effective management of the condition.
The Dakshata Institute team emphasized the importance of a balanced diet, regular exercise, and the inclusion of millets (Shri Anna) in daily meals. They noted that millets help maintain hormonal balance and should be promoted in rural diets for better health outcomes.
The program saw enthusiastic participation from rural women, adolescents, and students. Activities such as health counseling, interactive Q&A sessions, and distribution of informative materials were conducted.
Organizer Dr. Hokam Singh expressed commitment to continue such health-oriented initiatives in rural communities. He encouraged women to remain aware, proactive, and confident about their health and well-being.
