Jaipur : The Curtain Raiser Ceremony for Honour Run 2025 was organised in Jaipur under the aegis of Sapta Shakti Command. The event aims to honour the valour and sacrifice of veterans and promote the spirit of fitness, unity and patriotism among citizens.
Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander, Sapta Shakti Command attended the event as the Chief Guest. While addressing the esteemed audience, he highlighted that this Honour Run is not merely a fitness event, but a heartfelt tribute to the veterans and bravehearts of India’s Armed Forces. He also emphasised that this is an opportunity for all to pay their gratitude towards the brave soldiers who dare all odds and fight all adversaries for the security of our nation. He also urged the lively citizens to come forward and take their positive strides on 07 December during the main event.
The Honour Run, scheduled for 07 December 2025, has been institutionalised as an annual event held in the first week of December every year. In 2025, the total prize moneyis ₹22.70 lakh, with participation open for both civilians and veterans in 21km and 10 km categories.
During the ceremony, motivational video messages were shared by Mrs Deepa Malik (Paralympian & Padma Shri Awardee), Mr Anirban Lahiri (Golfer), Maj DP Singh (India’s first blade runner), Col Anuj Bindra (Who turned his Disability into Ability) and Mr Arshdeep Singh (International Cricket Player) -inspiring all to participate with enthusiasm and pride.
The event also featured brief talks by the Honour Run Ambassadors, including Brig Kuldeep Singh Gulia (Retd), an avid walker, Ms Sangeeta Vishnoi, a blade runner and Hav Digendra Kumar, MVC, SM (Retd), a Kargil War Hero.
The ceremony concluded with the unveiling of the event T-shirt and Medals by the Army Commander alongwith Brig Gulia and representatives of the State Bank of India (SBI), the event’s key partner.
The Honour Run stands as a symbol of gratitude towards the brave soldiers of the Indian Army -encouraging every citizen on “Run to Honour veterans, Run for India.”
