BLA Urged to Support BLOs in SIR Activities Deputy District Election Officer Briefs Political Parties

Sri Ganganagar : Under the directives of the Election Commission of India, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is in progress across Sri Ganganagar district. In this connection, a meeting with representatives of political parties was held on Friday at the Collectorate Conference Hall, chaired by Deputy District Election Officer Subhash Kumar. During the meeting, he provided a detailed briefing on the SIR process and urged Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to actively support Booth Level Officers (BLOs).

He explained that the primary objective of the SIR is to ensure that the electoral roll is updated, accurate, and error-free so that no eligible citizen is left out and no ineligible individual remains on the list. As per the Constitution of India, an eligible voter must be an Indian citizen, at least 18 years old, an ordinary resident of the constituency, and not disqualified under any law.

He informed the attendees that voter mapping is being carried out based on the 2002 electoral rolls, and over 66 percent of physical mapping has already been completed in Sri Ganganagar. Voters can review electoral rolls through the State Election Commission’s website under the Citizen Centre Corner. Data from previous SIRs for all states is available on the national voter portal, where Rajasthan’s 2002 voter lists can also be accessed. BLOs will collect completed enumeration forms from voters and submit them to the AERO.

He further added that voters whose mapping is complete will not be required to submit documents during the enumeration stage. Names of all voters submitting enumeration forms—online or offline—will be included in the draft electoral roll. After enumeration, voters not linked with previous SIR data will be issued notices by EROs and AEROs for verification. Eligible citizens will then be included in the final electoral roll, while ineligible entries will be removed.

He emphasised the crucial role of political parties and their representatives. All parties must appoint BLAs, share their details, and ensure they coordinate with their respective BLOs. BLAs will help in spreading awareness, guiding voters in filling forms, and ensuring timely submission. Each BLA may certify and submit up to 50 enumeration forms daily.

He outlined the SIR schedule:
– Enumeration through door-to-door distribution and collection of forms: 4 November to 4 December 2025
– Publication of draft roll: 9 December 2025
– Claims and objections: 9 December 2025 to 9 January 2026
– Notice phase, hearings, and verifications: 9 December 2025 to 31 January 2026
– Publication of final electoral roll: 7 February 2026

Lists of absent, shifted, deceased, and duplicate voters not included in the draft roll will be uploaded on the department’s website, after which citizens may apply for inclusion or raise objections.

He also noted that voters who cannot be matched with the 2002 list will receive notices, and their eligibility will be verified through supporting documents. Calling the revision a significant effort to uphold the integrity of the democratic process, he urged all citizens to submit their enumeration forms and verify their details in the electoral roll.

The meeting was attended by SDM Ganganagar Nayan Gautam, BJP representatives Ratan Lal Ganeshgadhiya and Ramesh Chhabra, INC representatives Bheemraj Dabi and Jasmeet Singh, AAP representative Shankar Meghwal, and CPI(M) representatives Vijay Rewar and Vakil Singh, among others.
