Library Week Concludes in Kota
Outstanding talents honoured during celebrations
The National Library Week (14–20 November) was concluded in a dignified ceremony at the Government Mandal Public Library, Kota. Throughout the week, activities aimed at promoting a reading culture — including read-aloud sessions, book exhibitions, and outreach programmes — were organised, and a large number of citizens, students, and library enthusiasts were connected with these initiatives.
During the closing ceremony, Miss Madhu Mandal and Miss Harshita Yogi were honoured with medals and certificates of appreciation for their remarkable performance during the week. Their active participation in programme coordination, event management, and reading-promotion activities was acknowledged.
The event was graced by Dr. Deepak Kumar Shrivastava, Dr. Shashi Jain, Narendra Sharma, Ramniwas Dhakad, and Ajay Saxena. All invited guests emphasised that the week’s activities had been community-oriented and highlighted the need to strengthen reading habits further.
In his remarks, Dr. Deepak Kumar Shrivastava stated that the library functions not merely as a storehouse of books but as a centre for intellectual development. He added that the week’s events demonstrated the community’s eagerness to connect with knowledge and reading.
Shashi Jain described the initiatives as an effective effort to link the younger generation with libraries, noting that read-aloud and outreach activities serve as powerful tools to nurture reading habits among youth.
Advocate Narendra Sharma appreciated the performance of the young talents, stating that their leadership has shown how youth can give new direction to library culture.
Ramniwas Dhakad described the week as a platform that strengthened community–library dialogue, while Ajay Saxena reiterated that libraries remain as relevant as ever and must continue to integrate modern activities.
At the end of the ceremony, the library administration extended gratitude to all participants and supporters, reaffirming its commitment to continuing such initiatives that promote reading culture and intellectual enrichment.
