Udaipur. The Rotary Club of Udaipur formally inaugurated its fourth Moksha Rath at Rotary Bajaj Bhawan with support from the Gehrilal–Manorama Devi Seth Charitable Trust. The vehicle was dedicated in the presence of Dr. Mohan Seth, Sajjan Seth, Club President Deepak Mehta, Secretary Vineet Damani, Past District Governor Nirmal Singhvi, and Rotary Moksha Rath Committee Chairman Dr. Anil Kothari. The club is also providing a mortuary box free of cost as part of its ongoing public service initiatives.
Club President Deepak Mehta shared that it was a proud moment for the club, made possible through the generosity of member Sajjan Seth and the Seth family. With the city’s growing population, the need for an additional Moksha Rath had been felt for a long time. Past District Governor Nirmal Singhvi proposed the idea, and the Seth family gave their approval within just 12 hours.
Singhvi stated that the club has been serving the city through Moksha Rath services for the past 19 years, always ready to provide essential support free of charge whenever the need arises. “There was a time when we sought donations for our service activities, and today we stand in a position to give,” he added.
Committee Chairman Dr. Anil Kothari informed that the first Moksha Rath was introduced in 2006–07, followed by a mortuary box after three years, another Moksha Rath in 2013–14, and a third one in 2021–22. The first vehicle was later scrapped due to wear.
Social worker Sajjan Seth expressed that this contribution was possible due to the inspiration of Rotary members. Umed Singh Chauhan introduced Dr. Mohan Seth, who noted that the project will significantly improve services for the city. Padam Duggad read the felicitation letters presented to Dr. Mohan Seth and Sajjan Seth by the club.
The programme was conducted by Secretary Vineet Damani, who also extended the vote of thanks.
