“Whatever I Am Today, I Owe to This College” – Dr. Sudhir Bakshi

Udaipur — The monthly gathering of the Maharana Bhupal College Alumni Council was held on Sunday morning at the Vivekananda Auditorium. The distinguished guest, Dr. Sudhir Bakshi, former in-charge of Walkem Vietnam Mines, shared the stage with Council President Prof. Mahip Bhatnagar, General Secretary Shantilal Bhandari, and Secretary Dr. R.K. Garg.

Welcoming everyone, President Prof. Mahip Bhatnagar said the time had come for the council to expand its scope and undertake socially beneficial initiatives that would strengthen its identity in the city.
General Secretary Shantilal Bhandari expressed happiness over the regular participation of newly enrolled members. Conducting the programme, Dr. R.K. Garg presented the report of the previous month, which was approved by the house.

Dr. S.S. Mehta explained in detail the “do’s and don’ts” of first aid related to injuries, drowning incidents, and snakebites so that lives can be saved during emergencies.

In his address, guest speaker Dr. Sudhir Bakshi said that whatever he has achieved in life is because of this college. Here he not only received world-class postgraduate education but also found the inspiration that led him to become the ‘Best Sportsman of the Year.’

Media coordinator Prof. Vimal Sharma shared that members celebrating their birthdays this month were honoured, along with wishes for their long and healthy life.
Cultural performances included Shiv Ratan Tiwari’s original work ‘Chausar Ke Khel Mein’, Smt. Geeta Singh’s ‘Duniya Chale Na Shri Ram Ke Bina’, Suresh Sisodiya’s original contemporary verse, Dr. Naresh Sharma’s ‘Rimjhim Ke Ye Pyare Pyare’, Smt. Sita Sharma’s ‘Apni Aankhon Mein Basa Kar’, and Prakash Tated’s original poem ‘Shaadi Tab Aur Ab’.

A vote of thanks was delivered by M.P. Jain, and a two-minute silence was observed to honour the late senior member, Chandrasingh Munot.
