Rajasthan Shines Again at Outlook Traveller Awards 2025
New Delhi/Udaipur — The City of Lakes has once again proven its unmatched charm in wedding tourism. Udaipur has been honoured with the ‘Best Wedding Destination’ title at the Outlook Traveller Awards 2025. The award was announced on Saturday during a grand ceremony held at Hyatt Regency, New Delhi.
The award was presented by Sikkim’s Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, T.T. Bhutia, to Rajasthan Tourism’s Additional Director Anand Tripathi and Joint Director (Udaipur) Sumita Saroch.
Rajasthan has consistently led the destination wedding category. With its palaces, lakes, and Mewari heritage, Udaipur has remained a top choice for couples from India and abroad. In recent years, the city has been ranked among the top five global wedding destinations.

Expressing her delight, Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Diya Kumari said,
“Rajasthan has always been the first choice for destination weddings. Nearly 70% of India’s heritage properties are located here. Our forts, palaces, and havelis are not just structures; they are the living soul of Rajasthan’s history.”
She added that more than 120 heritage venues in Rajasthan host destination weddings regularly — a reflection of the state’s unique appeal. “Here, weddings transform from ceremonies into lifelong experiences.”
Tourism Commissioner Rukmani Riyar noted that under the visionary leadership of the Deputy CM, the department is ready to strengthen Rajasthan’s presence in wedding, wellness, and adventure tourism by showcasing its cultural and heritage assets.
Selection after rigorous expert evaluation
Nominations were reviewed by a jury of experts in tourism and heritage studies, including Jyoti Mayal, Anubhav Sapra, Col. Ranveer Singh Jamwal, Dr. Navina Jafa, Dr. Latika Nath, and Jury Chair Anindita Ghosh. After a detailed assessment on multiple parameters, Udaipur was chosen as the ‘Best Wedding Destination’.

The event began with cultural performances, followed by awards in various categories. Tourism experts, industry representatives, and major figures from the travel fraternity attended.
Udaipur remains a global hotspot for weddings
Udaipur’s international reputation has grown stronger with several high-profile celebrity weddings. Adding to the excitement, Donald Trump Jr., son of the former U.S. President, is arriving in India to attend the wedding of industrialist Ramraju Mantena’s daughter. He will stay at The Leela Palace on Lake Pichola and participate in the three-day grand celebration from November 21–23. Such high-profile events continue to enhance Udaipur’s status as a world-leading wedding destination.
A boost to Rajasthan’s tourism sector
Experts believe this award comes at a crucial time when Rajasthan is witnessing rapid growth in film shoots, events, and wedding tourism. Industry leaders have described it as a positive signal for the state’s brand value and future investment potential.
