IRAS Day Celebrated on North Western Railway

IRAS Day was celebrated on Saturday at the Umang Club of the North Western Railway in Jaipur. The chief guest of the ceremony was retired IRAS officer Rashmi Kapoor.

On this occasion, Principal Financial Advisor (PFA) Gitika Pandey highlighted the significant and leading role played by the Accounts Department of North Western Railway in ensuring financial discipline, transparency, and the efficient and economical use of resources. She stated that the IRAS cadre has been functioning as a strong “think tank” in financial management, budget control, audit compliance, revenue enhancement, and policy-related decision-making within the Railways.

During the technical session, engaging presentations were delivered on the Digital Life Certificate campaign and the contribution of Indian Railways in the fields of defence and strategic security. These presentations shed light on important aspects related to the Railways’ social responsibility, the protection of pensioners’ interests, and national security.

Working and retired IRAS officers from headquarters and divisions enthusiastically participated in the event and reaffirmed their commitment to contributing to the progress, financial strength, and improved service delivery of Indian Railways, especially the North Western Railway.

IRAS officers including Rupesh Singhvi, Nishtha Puri, Vishnu Bajaj, Tarika Roy, V. S. Meena and others were also present. The event concluded with a musical presentation, adding a pleasant touch to the ceremony.
