Udaipur Wins ‘Best Wedding Destination’ at Outlook Traveller Awards 2025
Udaipur. The City of Lakes has once again demonstrated its global charm by winning the prestigious ‘Best Wedding Destination’ title at the Outlook Traveller Awards 2025. The announcement, made during a grand ceremony at Hyatt Regency, New Delhi, sparked widespread celebration across Rajasthan’s tourism sector.
The award was presented by Sikkim’s Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister T.T. Bhutia to Rajasthan Tourism’s Additional Director Anand Tripathi and Udaipur Tourism’s Joint Director Sumita Saroch.

For years, Rajasthan has been the top choice for destination weddings, and Udaipur remains its most shining jewel.
Its palaces, lakes, havelis, and the timeless Mewari grandeur have kept the city consistently ranked among Asia’s and the world’s leading wedding destinations.
“Rajasthan Leads the World in Wedding Tourism” – Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari
Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Diya Kumari described the award as a symbol of Rajasthan’s cultural excellence.
She said:
“Rajasthan has always been the most preferred place for celebrations that bring hearts together. Over 70% of India's heritage properties are here. Our havelis, forts, and palaces are not just structures—they hold the soul of Rajasthan.”
She added that more than 120 heritage venues in the state regularly host grand destination weddings, significantly contributing to Rajasthan’s reputation as a global wedding hub.
Tourism Commissioner Rukmani Riyar noted that under Diya Kumari’s leadership, the department is ready to achieve new heights in wedding, wellness, and adventure tourism.

The three-day celebration from 21 to 23 November includes his stay at The Leela Palace, drawing significant global attention.
