National Milk Day Celebrated at College of Dairy and Food Technology, MPUAT Udaipur
On November 26, 2025, the College of Dairy and Food Technology at Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur, celebrated National Milk Day with great enthusiasm and dignity. Dr. Karun Chandalia, former Managing Director of Pali Dairy and Chairman of the Indian Dairy Association (Rajasthan Chapter), was the chief guest for the event.
In his address, Dr. Chandalia provided an in-depth analysis of the current state of the Indian dairy industry, sharing the latest statistics, technological advancements, and the vast opportunities that lie ahead. He highlighted that milk production in the country is steadily increasing, and the demand for value-added dairy products is expected to grow significantly in the coming years. Dr. Chandalia also encouraged the youth to engage in innovation, entrepreneurship, and research in the dairy sector.
The event was successfully coordinated by Dr. Kamlesh Meena, Assistant Dean of Student Welfare. During the session, Dr. Meena also shed light on the nutritional importance of milk, the growing employment and entrepreneurial opportunities in both rural and urban areas, and the global landscape and competitive potential of the dairy industry. He emphasized that India is the world's leading milk producer, and through quality products and technical expertise, students can make a mark on the global stage.
The ceremony saw participation from around 50-60 faculty members and students. The attendees paid heartfelt tribute to Dr. Verghese Kurien, the architect of the White Revolution, recalling his monumental contributions to the dairy industry.
At the end of the program, students had the opportunity to ask questions to the experts, who provided solutions in an inspiring and easy-to-understand manner. The event concluded with a vote of thanks.
The program proved to be enlightening, motivating, and an excellent platform to encourage students toward building a career in the dairy sector.
