Dr. Anil Mehta: Fulfill your Fundamental Duties through the Panch Pran and Panch Parivartan
Udaipur : A Constitution Day ceremony was organized at Vidya Bhavan Polytechnic on Wednesday, where the contributions of Dr. Mohan Singh Mehta, a member of the Constituent Assembly and the founder of Vidya Bhavan, were remembered.
Event organizer Jay Sharma informed that during the event, the Preamble of the Constitution was read out, and a pledge was taken by all present.
The Chief Speaker, Principal Dr. Anil Mehta, emphasized that if we uphold our fundamental duties mentioned in the Constitution with our mind, words, and actions, society, the nation, and the entire world will reach the pinnacle of progress.
Dr. Mehta highlighted the importance of the Panch Pran (five pledges) and Panch Parivartan (five changes) in fulfilling one’s constitutional duties. He explained that these principles can guide every individual to fulfill their constitutional responsibilities. The Panch Pran include:
Making the country prosperous.
Freedom from a colonial mindset.
Pride in our rich heritage.
Unity and solidarity.
Civic responsibility.
Meanwhile, the Panch Parivartan are:
Promoting Swadeshi (indigenous products).
Fostering social harmony.
Protecting the environment.
Promoting family awareness.
Upholding civic duties.
Dr. Mehta, while urging everyone to respect and follow the Constitution, called upon all present to take an oath to follow the ten duties outlined in the Constitution.
The attendees took the following oath:
To abide by the Constitution, respecting its ideals, institutions, the national flag, and the national anthem.
To preserve and uphold the ideals that inspired our national freedom struggle.
To maintain and defend India’s sovereignty, unity, and integrity.
To defend the country and offer national service when called upon.
To promote harmony and the spirit of brotherhood among all people, transcending religious, linguistic, regional, or class differences.
To renounce practices that are derogatory to the dignity of women.
To value and preserve the rich heritage of our composite culture.
To protect and promote the natural environment, including forests, lakes, rivers, and wildlife, and to show compassion for living creatures.
To foster a scientific outlook, humanism, and a spirit of inquiry and reform.
To safeguard public property and renounce violence.
To strive for excellence in all personal and collective activities to help the nation reach higher levels of achievement.
Professors Ramesh Chandra Kumhar, Amit Kushwaha, and Radha Kishan Menaria also shared their thoughts on the occasion.
