Youth Must Act as Guardians of the Constitution: Justice Abhay Jain
Bhilwara, Sangam University organized a one-day national seminar on the occasion of Constitution Day on the theme “India@2047 Constitution in the Perspective of Youth: Challenges and Possibilities.” The event was jointly hosted by the Faculty of Arts & Humanities and the Faculty of Law.
The seminar began with a rendition of Vande Mataram by students of the Department of Music, marking the 150th anniversary of the national song. Dean of Arts & Humanities, Prof. (Dr.) Rajeev Mehta, delivered the welcome address.
Youth Should Uphold the Constitution: Justice Jain
Addressing the participants, Chief Guest Justice Abhay Jain urged the youth to take on the role of “guardians of the Constitution” and contribute to realizing the vision of a developed India by 2047. He emphasized the principle of “Liberty with Responsibility.”
Youth as a Bridge Between Society and Judiciary
Special Guest Additional District Judge Vishal Bhargava highlighted the role of youth in resolving local issues through Public Interest Litigations (PILs), urging them to work as a bridge between society and the judiciary.
Another Special Guest, Chief Judicial Magistrate Nagendra Singh, traced the evolution of the Indian Constitution, stating that amendments are essential as times and circumstances change. He described the Constitution as a “confluence of all laws” and a guiding light for the nation.
AI and Robotics Can Aid Judicial Reforms
Sangam University Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Karunesh Saxena appreciated ongoing efforts toward modernization of the judicial system. He suggested exploring the use of robotics and artificial intelligence to strengthen judicial efficiency, while stressing the need to make justice accessible to the poor and to expedite pending cases.
Paper Presentations and Awards
The technical session, chaired by Vikram Yadav and Dr. Mukesh Sharma, saw 34 research papers presented.

Closing Session
In the valedictory session, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Manas Ranjan Panigrahi described “Live and Let Live” as the core spirit of the Constitution and said that it is every citizen’s duty to follow its guiding principles.
Dr. Jorawar Singh Ranawat read the Preamble of the Constitution. Winners of the University’s Hindi Divas competitions were awarded, and the Department of Fine Arts presented an Art Gallery Exhibition.
Dean, Faculty of Law, Dr. Omprakash Somkuwar, proposed the vote of thanks, while Registrar Dr. Alok Kumar congratulated everyone for the successful organization of the event.
