Udaipur. The College of Community and Applied Sciences, under Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, successfully organized a Standards Writing Competition on 27 November 2025 in collaboration with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Jaipur.
The program commenced with an inaugural address by the Dean of the College, Professor Dhriti Solanki, who highlighted the importance of standardization in strengthening quality assurance, safety, and scientific discipline. She emphasized that such activities offer students valuable practical exposure and equip them with the essential skills required to meaningfully contribute to national development.
The event was conducted under the guidance of Professor Dr. Suman Singh, mentor of the C.C.A.S Standards Club. The distinguished resource person, Mr. Praful Kothari, BIS expert, delivered an in-depth training session on the process, structure, methodology, and technical nuances of standards writing. His session provided students with improved clarity, precision, and analytical thinking.
Following the training, students enthusiastically participated in the Standards Writing Competition and showcased their creativity and technical competence.
During the concluding session, the results were announced:
First Prize: Mr. Kunal Chauhan and Ms. Rajal Nama for exceptional clarity and originality
Second Prize: Ms. Neha Khajuria and Ms. Prachi for excellent organization, content structure, and technical understanding
Third Prize: Ms. Pratiksha and Ms. Deepshikha for their well-conceived presentation and adherence to standards writing parameters
Consolation Prizes: Ms. Ambika Bhakhar and Ms. Amisha Kharra for their commendable efforts and innovative approach
The program’s organizing committee—comprising Dr. Suman Singh, Dr. Rekha Vyas, Dr. Hemu Rathore, Dr. Jaymala Dave, Dr. Anjali Juyal, Ms. Bipasha, Ms. Ritisha, Ms. Pooja, Ms. Charvi, Mr. Pradeep Kumar Sehra, and Mr. Rituraj—played a pivotal role in ensuring the successful completion of the event through their dedicated efforts.
