Udaipur: The Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Udaipur (Umarda) successfully organized the Orientation Program and White Coat Ceremony for the newly admitted MBBS Batch 2025. A total of 250 new MBBS students were welcomed into the institution this year.
Last year, the institute admitted 200 MBBS students, while this year the National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved an increased intake of 250 MBBS seats, marking a significant achievement for the institute. Owing to PIMS’ strong infrastructure and highly qualified teaching faculty, there has also been a substantial rise in postgraduate seats.
Last year, NMC had permitted 158 PG seats, and this year the institute received approval for 220 PG seats, further strengthening its academic standing.
During the ceremony, all 250 newcomers were formally welcomed.
Chairman Mr. Ashish Agrawal, Mrs. Sheetal Agrawal, and Mr. Naman Agrawal extended their best wishes for the bright future of the students.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Prashant Nahar addressed the gathering and explained the symbolic and professional significance of the White Coat in the medical profession.
Principal Dr. Suresh Goyal administered the Hippocratic Oath, emphasizing dedication, honesty, and compassion in patient care. Students pledged that:
They will treat patients with sincerity and without discrimination.
All patient-related information will be kept strictly confidential.
They will not prescribe or administer any treatment that may harm the patient.
They will consult specialist doctors whenever required.
They will continue lifelong learning and provide care based on the latest medical research.
The event witnessed the presence of Registrar Dr. Devendra Jain, Medical Director Dr. Kamlesh Shekhawat, Superintendent Dr. Sarita Kant, Senior Professor Dr. P.S. Bhatnagar, Dr. Chanda Mathur, along with department heads and faculty members.

Dr. Pranav Kumar, Head of Forensic Medicine, delivered the vote of thanks.
