Book Launch of Anubhuti and Batori Hui Virasat Held in Udaipur

Udaipur — A special ceremony was held today at Mahapragya Vihar to launch two significant literary works: Anubhuti, an autobiography written by noted social worker Dr. Laxman Singh Karnawat, and Batori Hui Virasat, a compilation curated by Pushpa Karnawat.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Col. (Prof.) Dr. S.S. Sarangdevot, Vice-Chancellor of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth, with distinguished guest Dr. Dev Kothari and Madan Tated, Secretary of Parmarthik Seva Sansthan. The program was presided over by Justice Banshilal Babel, while Dr. Pradeep Kumawat served as editor and keynote speaker.

In his address, Dr. Sarangdevot praised Karnawat’s lifelong dedication to social service. “The harmony of knowledge and prosperity is clearly visible in the Karnawat family,” he remarked. “True literature is born only when human consciousness flows through it. Both books beautifully reflect this essence—teaching us the art of living, and how to serve society with purpose.”

Keynote speaker Dr. Pradeep Kumawat compared the stage to a constellation of sages, acknowledging the intellectual aura of the gathering. Speaking on the depth of autobiography writing, he said, “Only a person of strong character can write an honest life story. Karnawat’s pen carries both integrity and emotion.”

Author Dr. Laxman Singh Karnawat reflected on his journey, saying, “Life is the passage between birth and death—an experience of what we gain and what we lose. The visits of three revered Acharyas to Udaipur have shaped my life, and this book captures those experiences.” He further shared how inspirations from Acharya Tulsi and Sadhvi Pramukha guided many of his writings.

Justice Banshilal Babel applauded the compilation Batori Hui Virasat, calling it “a meticulous effort akin to finding grains in a haystack.” The book documents the lineage of Acharyas from Bhikshu to Mahashraman.

Several dignitaries—including Prof. Uma Shankar Sharma, Bhikham Chand, Dr. K.L. Kothari, Mahendra Karnawat, Suresh Dak, and Terapanth Sabha President Kamal Nahata—shared their heartfelt insights about the Karnawat family’s contribution to literature and society.

Dr. Dev Kothari praised Karnawat’s sharp language, poetic style, and his narration of events rarely found in history. “Anubhuti contains all that the author has lived—especially the detailed account of Acharya Tulsi’s Mewar journey,” he noted.

The family’s daughter-in-law Lata Karnawat welcomed the guests, while Usha Chavan introduced the essence of Batori Hui Virasat, describing it as a collection of teachings and memories of revered saints and sadhvis. Many family members and community representatives extended hospitality to the guests. The program began with a devotional invocation by Meena Karnawat and family, was conducted by Alok Pagaria, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Kamal Karnawat.
