Huge Turnout of Sports Enthusiasts at Beach Volleyball Matches
Udaipur — After the excitement of Judo events, the thrill of Beach Volleyball has taken center stage at the 5th Khelo India University Games – 2025 in Udaipur. On Saturday, nine league matches were played at the scenic Mahakaleshwar Temple premises on the banks of Fateh Sagar Lake, drawing a large number of sports lovers who turned up to cheer athletes from across the country.
District Sports Officer Dr. Mahesh Paliwal informed that in the men's league matches, Goa University defeated SRM University 2–1, UoM beat KAR 2–0, KPM won against UoC 2–0, SRM defeated KAR 2–0, and UoM registered a 2–1 win over Goa.
In the women’s category, VEM University beat KPM 2–0, SRM defeated AW University 2–0, KPM won against PAR 2–1, and SRM overpowered LNI 2–0.
Competition in-charges Atul Kumar Singh from the Sports Authority of India, Manager M. Prabhakaran, and Rajasthan Volleyball Association office-bearers Vice President Devnarayan Dhabai, Treasurer Hemraj Sonwal, Joint Secretary Mahaveer Singh, and Prabhulal Jat were present during the matches.
On Sunday, league matches will be held in the morning session, followed by the semifinals from 2 PM onwards.
Dr. Paliwal further informed that preparations for the Kayaking and Canoeing events starting from December 2 are almost complete. The athletes’ boats have also arrived, and the venue is ready to host the next set of competitions.
