North Western Railway’s Ajmer Division is continuously upgrading passenger facilities across its stations. Under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Shri Raju Bhutada, major improvements such as platform extension, raising platform height, and installation or expansion of platform shelters are being carried out to ensure enhanced comfort and convenience for passengers while boarding, deboarding, and waiting for trains.
Considering the increasing number of coaches in long-distance trains, platforms are being extended to full length to enable smooth passenger movement. Platform heights are being upgraded from rail level and medium level to high-level platforms, making train access easier for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, women, and children. Alongside these upgrades, new shelters are being installed and existing ones expanded at various stations.
At Ajmer, Udaipur, Kharwa Chhonda, Piplaj, and Moribera stations, platform extension and height modification work worth approximately ₹38 crore is underway. Additionally, at 14 stations including Ajmer, Beawar, Marwar Junction, Somesar, Falna, Jawai Bandh, Dungarpur, Mavli, and Bhilwara, full-length platform shelters are being installed at a cost of ₹113 crore.
Indian Railways remains committed to providing safe, comfortable, and passenger-friendly travel experiences across the network.
