The Gita Is a Life-Guide for Youth: Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sarangdevot

Udaipur. Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth Vice-Chancellor and Honorary Colonel Prof. Shiv Singh Sarangdevot said that the Bhagavad Gita is the foundation of Indian culture, philosophy, and ethical principles. In the modern era, the Gita serves as a source of inspiration, balance, and self-awareness for today’s youth. Highlighting samatva bhava (equanimity) as a core principle of human life, he said the Gita guides individuals toward duty, courage, and the path of karmayoga.

Prof. Sarangdevot was addressing the national seminar on “Shrimad Bhagavad Gita Samatva Darshan,” jointly organized by Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (Deemed-to-be University), Udaipur, and Sanskrit Bharati Udaipur. The seminar was held in a hybrid online-offline mode with the aim of disseminating the Gita’s core teachings and its message of equilibrium and life philosophy among the youth. Prof. Sarangdevot joined the session online from Delhi. He emphasized that the Gita is the essence of complete yoga, education, values, and ideals for a harmonious human society.

Chief Guest Dr. Bhagwati Shankar Vyas, Divisional Sanskrit Education Officer, stressed the importance of imbibing the Gita’s philosophical teachings in everyday life. He stated that the Gita is not merely a scripture but an extraordinary art of living that guides individuals on a balanced path of action, devotion, discipline, and knowledge.

Saraswat Guest Prof. Neeraj Sharma, Head of the Sanskrit Department at Mohanlal Sukhadia University, also graced the occasion with his presence and guidance.

The University Registrar, Dr. Tarun Shrimali, highlighted the need to promote interest in Indian culture, literature, and Gita reading among today’s youth. He suggested using digital formats such as Instagram Reels to share brief yet meaningful knowledge. He added that providing accurate and authentic information to Artificial Intelligence is essential to ensure the dissemination of truthful and beneficial knowledge in society.

Earlier, the program commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, followed by the chanting of “Shubham Karoti Kalyanam,” the Deepjyoti Stuti, and a collective recitation of the Dhyeya Mantra, led by Rekha Sisodia. Dr. Yagya Ameta delivered the guest introduction and welcome address. The vote of thanks was presented by Program Coordinator Dr. Chandresh Chhattalani, and the event concluded with the recital of the Kalyan Mantra by Department Coordinator Dushyant Nagda.

The seminar witnessed the presence of several participants, including Harsh Dadhich, Dr. Lalit Salvi, Sanjay Shandilya, Dr. Kuldeep Joshi, Mangal Kumar Jain, Dushyant Nagda, Rekha Sisodia, Manaram Chaudhary, Dr. Himanshu Bhatt, Narendra Sharma, Chain Shankar Dashora, Dr. Veena Dwivedi, Jayprakash Sharma, Mohan Gurjar, Bhagwati Lal Dev, Harsh Narayan Dadhich, Dalchand Mali, Durgavati Sharma, Vikas Paliwal, Logar Gayari, Lalu Ram, Prakash Acharya and many activists, deans, and directors.
