Vidyapeeth Physiotherapy College Celebrates 25th Foundation Day with Grand International Workshop

Udaipur: Rajasthan Vidyapeeth’s constituent College of Physiotherapy celebrated its 25th Foundation Day with great enthusiasm by organising a two-day international workshop, which witnessed participation of over 300 delegates from India and abroad.

Inaugurating the workshop as the Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor Prof. Shiv Singh Sarangdevot highlighted the growing global shift towards physiotherapy due to the side effects associated with allopathic treatments. He said physiotherapy is a safe, side-effect-free system of treatment that empowers patients to recover through guided exercises, even at home. He emphasised that the role of physiotherapists has expanded significantly in the management of various diseases and encouraged students to adopt modern physiotherapy techniques to treat a wider range of health conditions.

Welcoming the guests, Principal Dr. Shailendra Mehta shared details of the two-day seminar and informed that more than 300 participants, including national and international experts, researchers and students, are taking part in the event.

Presiding over the programme, Chancellor and Kul Pramukh Bhawar Lal Gurjar said that physiotherapy has its roots in ancient practices such as yoga, and with time, innovation and scientific advancement have further strengthened this discipline.

The key speaker, Prof. Bellia Rosario from Italy, conducted live demonstrations on advanced physiotherapy techniques, including taping therapy and soft tissue and muscle mobilisation using mechanical tools. He explained the effectiveness of these methods in treating various conditions such as burns, sports injuries, shoulder injuries, fractures, neck pain, knee pain and elbow pain.
