Rajasthan Kayaking & Canoeing Team Selection Trials Announced for National Championships
Udaipur: Secretary of the Rajasthan Kayaking and Canoeing Association, Dilip Singh Chauhan, informed that the Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association will organize the 14th National Dragon Boat Championship (Senior & Junior – Men, Women and Mixed) from January 6 to 9, 2026, and the 36th Senior National Canoe Sprint Championship (Men & Women) from January 28 to 31, 2026 at Lower Lake Bhopal.
President of the Rajasthan Kayaking and Canoeing Association, Bhagwan Swaroop Vaishnav, stated that selection trials for both national championships (Dragon Boat and Canoe Sprint) will be held on December 23 and 24, 2025, starting at 9:00 AM, at the Regional Coaching Centre Fateh Sagar, Fateh Sagar. Players with the best timings and required eligibility will be selected to represent Rajasthan at the national level.
Dilip Singh Chauhan further informed that the selection of players for both championships will be carried out by a selection committee constituted by the association. The committee members include Deepak Gupta, Nishchay Singh Chauhan, Tanishq Patwa, Nitin Bisht, and Rudrapratap Singh Chauhan, who will conduct the trials.
Selection committee member Deepak Gupta stated that all interested and eligible players are invited to participate in the selection trials. Athletes must report at the designated venue on time with all required documents. Players may also submit their entries in advance to coach Tanishq Patwa at the Regional Coaching Centre.
After the selection process, a training camp for the selected players will be organized at Fateh Sagar. Expressing confidence, Dilip Singh Chauhan said that, as in previous years, Rajasthan athletes are expected to deliver strong performances and return with medals from the national championships.
