Jaipur,Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander, Sapta Shakti Command, attended the Convocation Ceremony of Poornima University, Jaipur as the Chief Guest on 20 Dec 2025. He was warmly welcomed and felicitated on arrival by the Chairperson and senior functionaries of Poornima University.

The ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolising knowledge, wisdom and the eternal quest for learning. The Army Commander joined the university leadership in the lamp-lighting, marking the formal inauguration of the convocation.
In his Convocation Address, the Army Commander emphasised the decisive role of youth in nation building, portraying an Army career as one where purpose becomes a way of life. He highlighted the Indian Army’s character-building ethos - anchored in discipline, dedication, leadership, teamwork and the abiding principle of service before self - as timeless values that shape professional excellence and personal integrity. Urging the graduating students to harness their education, energy and sense of duty for the greater national good, he called upon them to contribute proactively to nation building and to uphold the highest standards of integrity, responsibility and ethical conduct in their chosen fields.
The Army Commander also appreciated Poornima University for its role in imparting quality education, fostering innovation and preparing youth to meet emerging challenges in a rapidly changing world. He commended the university’s efforts to promote research, industry linkages and holistic development of students.
Emphasising the importance of civil–military synergy, the Army Commander underlined that such engagements with academic institutions play a significant role in strengthening the connect between the Indian Army and civil academia. He stated that enduring partnerships between the Armed Forces and universities help in enhancing awareness about national security, inculcating a spirit of patriotism and inspiring youth to consider a career in the Armed Forces.
The event reaffirmed Sapta Shakti Command’s commitment to engage with youth and academia as part of a broader whole-of-nation approach towards national development and security.
