Udaipur, December 22: Renowned social worker Jagdish Prasad Joshi, a lifelong champion of tribal welfare, was ceremonially honoured by being weighed with books on the occasion of his 91st birthday. A felicitation programme was held at the College of Technology auditorium, celebrating his decades-long selfless service in tribal regions from Peepalkhunt to Kotra.
Born in 1935, Joshi left a comfortable life to work closely with tribal communities, even living in hostels to support their development. Even after retirement as an Executive Engineer, he devoted his pension to social causes. Notably, he inspired film actor Akshay Kumar to fund and build a tribal hostel in Kherwara, with another girls’ hostel underway. His life stands as a living example of service, dedication and compassion.
