Udaipur: The vibrant spirit of “Lok ke Rang, Lok ke Sang” unfolded magnificently at Shilpgram Utsav 2025 as folk music and dance traditions from across India mesmerised audiences at the Muktakash Manch. From morning till evening, cultural performances at various thadas across Shilpgram kept visitors engrossed in an atmosphere of celebration and tradition.

The evening showcase featured Rajasthan’s Manganiyar singing, Safed Angi Gair and Deru dance, complemented beautifully by Odisha’s Sambalpuri dance and Goa’s rhythmic Ghumat singing. A specially curated choreographic presentation drew thunderous applause, presenting a grand confluence of folk dances including Goa’s Dekhni and Ghode Modni, Manipur’s Lai Haraoba, Kashmir’s Rouf, Rajasthan’s Lal Angi and Chari, Karnataka’s Pooja Kunita and Dhal Kunita, Maharashtra’s Sangi Mask dance, Punjab’s Luddi and Gujarat’s Talwar Raas and Rathwa dance. The production was conceptualised by renowned Delhi-based choreographer Sushil Sharma.
A highlight of the evening was the electrifying fusion of Marathi Lavani by Shraddha Satveedkar & Group with Kathak by Nitin Kumar & Group, blending classical grace with folk energy. Earlier, a melodious medley of Rajasthani folk songs directed by Dr. Prem Bhandari also won wide appreciation.
Rathwa Dance to Enchant Audiences
Meanwhile, the magic of Gujarat’s tribal Rathwa dance will take centre stage at the Muktakash Manch on Tuesday evening. Known for its fast pace, thrilling balance acts and powerful rhythms, the dance reflects joy, unity and celebration. Accompanied by Ram dhol, shehnai and traditional percussion, and performed in vibrant attire adorned with peacock feathers, the Rathwa dance promises an unforgettable experience for visitors at Shilpgram Utsav 2025.
