###Ten-Day Flower Show Opens at Fatehsagar, Governor Kataria Calls Nature the Key to a Prosperous Future

Udaipur — The ten-day grand Flower Show on the picturesque Fatehsagar Lake embankment began on Thursday under the joint aegis of the District Administration and Udaipur Development Authority (UDA). The exhibition was inaugurated by Punjab Governor and Administrator of Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria. The lakefront has come alive with the fragrance and colours of blooming flowers, turning the entire stretch into a vibrant celebration of nature. With Shilpgram Utsav in full swing and the city witnessing a heavy tourist inflow during the winter vacation, the Flower Show is set to emerge as a major attraction for visitors and residents alike.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Governor Kataria said that flowers and greenery are the adornment of Mother Earth, and respecting nature is the key to a prosperous future. He remarked that just as flowers come together to form a beautiful garland, society too becomes strong and progressive when every individual contributes with unity and purpose. Appreciating the efforts of officials and supporting institutions, he said the exhibition reflects dedication, creativity and collective responsibility toward environmental harmony.

Referring to initiatives such as Flower Valley and Sajjangarh, he said prosperity grows wherever nature is nurtured. Citing the Dewas Project, he expressed confidence that with the completion of Phase III and IV, Udaipur’s lakes will remain full throughout the year, further enhancing the city’s natural splendour.

District Collector Namit Mehta informed that the exhibition will remain open to the public and tourists till 4 January, with special decorative lighting arrangements for evening visits. He said efforts are underway to include the Flower Show in the State Tourism Calendar and to build Udaipur’s identity as a “Flower City.”

On the occasion, Governor Kataria felicitated representatives of Hindustan Zinc, Wonder Cement, Miraj Group, Secure Meters, ArcGate and other institutions for extending CSR support to the exhibition. The event was attended by local public representatives, administrative officers, dignitaries, tourists and a large number of citizens, marking an inspiring beginning to the winter cultural season on the banks of Fatehsagar.
