One-Day Farmer Training and Input Distribution Program Boosts Modern Mango Cultivation

Udaipur.Under the Tribal Sub-Plan component of the All India Coordinated Fruit Improvement Project operated by MPUAT, a one-day farmer training and input distribution program was successfully organized at Ambavi village of Jhadol Panchayat Samiti to promote modern mango cultivation practices. The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from 30 tribal farmers.

Agricultural experts Dr. S.S. Lakhawat, Dr. N.L. Meena, Dr. P.S. Rao, and Mr. Madan Bairwa provided hands-on guidance on scientific techniques for establishing high-yield mango orchards, including selection of improved varieties, planting methods, nutrient management, and pest control. Farmers were also encouraged to adopt intercropping practices by cultivating tuber crops and seasonal vegetables between mango trees to enhance productivity and generate additional income.

At the valedictory session, Project In-charge Dr. S.S. Lakhawat distributed 25 saplings of improved mango varieties to each participating farmer, along with fertilizers, pesticides, and spray machines to support sustainable orchard development. Expressing gratitude, Dr. Lakhawat thanked all subject experts and farmers for their active participation, emphasizing that such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening livelihoods through scientific horticulture.
