Jaipur. Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Speaker Shri Vasudev Devnani stated that Chartered Accountants are not only the backbone of India’s economic system but also strong pillars of trust, ethics, opportunity, and technology, aligned with Indian cultural values. He called upon Chartered Accountants to play a proactive and value-based role in strengthening the nation’s economic growth.

Shri Devnani was addressing the inaugural session of the two-day National Conference “Fiducia (Trust) – 2025: Ethics, Opportunity, Technology and Sustainability”, organized by the Jaipur Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) at Birla Auditorium on Tuesday. He inaugurated the conference by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Highlighting India’s rapid economic rise under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Assembly Speaker said initiatives such as Digital India, GST, Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Startup India have placed trust and good governance at the core of national development. He emphasized that the successful implementation of these reforms depends significantly on professionals like Chartered Accountants.
Shri Devnani noted that Chartered Accountants play a vital role in maintaining balance in economic policies, investment decisions, and corporate governance. Through green bonds, sustainable finance, and ESG reporting, they can contribute meaningfully to India’s target of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2070. He added that CAs can also effectively translate the Indian philosophy of environmental protection, social responsibility, and good governance into practical action.
Referring to the technological era, Shri Devnani said that artificial intelligence, data analytics, and automation have transformed professional practices. However, he stressed that technology must be guided by human wisdom and ethics. Machines, he said, cannot distinguish between right and wrong—this responsibility lies solely with human conscience.
The Assembly Speaker emphasized that India’s growth cannot rely solely on large industries. The real strength of the nation lies in MSMEs, startups, and small entrepreneurs in villages and towns. Rajasthan, with its strong tradition of craftsmanship and entrepreneurship, holds immense potential, and Chartered Accountants can provide these enterprises with financial discipline and long-term vision.
Citing the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, Shri Devnani said that abandoning one’s duty leads to decline, while commitment to duty is the highest form of discipline. Chartered Accountants, he remarked, do more than manage numbers—they uphold responsibility, integrity, and judgment. A single audit report can determine a company’s future, strengthen investor confidence, and influence public policy. He also advised professionals to thoroughly analyze the new Income Tax law and maintain high standards of audit quality while performing their role as financial advisors.
On the occasion, ICAI President CA Shri Charanjot Singh Nanda also shared his views. The event was attended by ICAI Vice-President CA Shri Prasanna Kumar, SBI Director Shri D.S. Shekhawat, Jaipur Branch Chairman Shri Vikas, Secretary Shri Yash Gupta, SICASA Jaipur Chairman Shri Shivkumar, and several senior Chartered Accountants. Outstanding professionals were honored for their significant contributions.
