Udaipur — Acting on the directions of Excise Commissioner Shivprasad Nakate, the Excise Department continues its special preventive drive across the state to curb inter-state liquor smuggling, illegal manufacture, storage, transportation, and sale of alcohol. Under this ongoing campaign, Haryana-made liquor with fake hologram labels was seized from a restaurant bar in Jaipur, leading to the arrest of four persons. In a related action, illegal liquor was seized during a New Year party at a rooftop café in Udaipur, where one person was arrested.
Following the Excise Commissioner’s instructions, the drive is being conducted with a zero-tolerance policy under the supervision of Additional Excise Commissioner (Administration) O.P. Jain and Additional Excise Commissioner (Policy) Pradeep Singh Sangawat.
In Jaipur, on Wednesday night, an excise enforcement team carried out a raid at the Retreat Restaurant Bar located at Fortune Heights near Ahimsa Circle. During the operation, 10 cartons of Haryana-manufactured liquor bearing fake hologram labels, along with bottles of fake-hologram liquor, were seized. Four accused were arrested on the spot, and further investigation is underway. The operation was conducted by Deputy Commissioner Gyan Prakash Meena, Assistant Excise Officer Shivkumar Chaudhary, and PO Narendra Singh along with their team.
In Udaipur, under the directions of District Excise Officer Adaram Dahiya and Deputy Commissioner (EPF) Pradyumn Singh Chundawat, Excise Inspector Shambhu Singh Rathore of Gogunda, along with the excise vigilance team, conducted a raid at the Shalom Backpackers Café operating on the rooftop near Gangaur Ghat along the banks of Pichola Lake. During the search of a room on the rooftop, nine cartons of beer and liquor were recovered. The accused, Akash Chaudhary, was arrested from the spot.
Excise Inspector Shambhu Singh stated that information was received on Wednesday night regarding an unlicensed New Year party being held at the rooftop of Shalom Backpackers Café. Acting on the tip-off, the team conducted the raid and seized the illegal beer and liquor, arresting the accused. Home Guards Jamnashankar and Lokesh Gavariya assisted in the operation.
District Excise Officer Adaram Dahiya stated that the preventive अभियान is ongoing across the state, and strict action is being taken against illegal liquor parties conducted without an excise license. He appealed to organizers to remain vigilant and obtain the necessary licenses to avoid legal action.
