Udaipur: On the occasion of **Swami Vivekananda Jayanti**, Pacific University hosted a lecture on **Swadeshi (local products) and a Swadeshi pledge rally** today. The program was graced by **chief guest Mr. Nimbaram (State Pracharak, RSS Rajasthan)** and **special guest Prof. B.P. Sharma (Group President, Pacific University)**, while the event was chaired by **Prof. Hemant Kothari (Vice-Chancellor, Pacific University)**.
During his address, **Mr. Nimbaram** urged everyone to adopt **Swadeshi products** as a step toward a **self-reliant India (Atmanirbhar Bharat)**. He emphasized that purchasing products made in India strengthens the economy, supports small industries, artisans, and local businesses, and boosts national pride. He highlighted that the campaign to promote Swadeshi has regained momentum, with the government and social organizations encouraging citizens to use locally manufactured products. The message of “Adopt Swadeshi” is a significant step toward realizing India’s self-reliance, creating jobs, and reinforcing national self-esteem.
**Prof. B.P. Sharma** noted that to reduce India’s global trade deficit, it is essential to purchase more from local and small-scale businesses and avoid foreign products for everyday needs.
Vice-Chancellor **Prof. Hemant Kothari** inspired students to understand and embrace **Swami Vivekananda’s life values**, urging them to always buy **Swadeshi products** and raise awareness among others. He also inaugurated the **Swadeshi Pledge Rally**, which marched from **Pacific University to Nakoda Nagar**, involving students in a collective commitment to support local products.
The event saw the presence of **Dr. Hemant Pandya, Dr. Kapilesh Tiwari, Dr. Jitendra Singh Chundawat**, along with all deans and directors of participating colleges. A large number of students participated, reflecting enthusiasm and commitment toward the Swadeshi movement.
