Udaipur: Harshit Borana, a student of the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department at Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies (GITS), Dabok, has brought laurels to the institute by delivering an outstanding performance in the Hack for Social Cause event आयोजित under the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2026.
According to Institute Director Dr. S. M. Prasanna Kumar, Harshit was first selected at the college level, after which his team was shortlisted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur for the state-level competition. At the state-level hackathon, the team secured first position, emerging as winners.
Following this achievement, Harshit’s socially relevant, innovation-driven idea was selected by IIT Bombay for the national level, where the solution was further refined under expert mentorship. During this phase, Harshit presented his concept at Mandapam, New Delhi, in the presence of Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, attending investors, and Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal.
On the final day of the program, Harshit Borana also had the opportunity to present his project before Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who appreciated the solution for addressing a real and public-interest-related issue and also spoke positively about potential funding.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mayank Patel, Head of the CSE Department, said that Harshit’s achievement reflects that GITS students not only possess strong technical knowledge but also deeply understand their social responsibilities, which they continue to showcase through innovative solutions.
Finance Controller Mr. B. L. Jangid congratulated Harshit and stated that such national-level achievements validate the institute’s academic excellence and innovation-friendly environment. Harshit Borana has truly illuminated the name of GITS across the country.
