Udaipur.The Directorate of Extension Education of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur, released its multicolour and multi-utility calendar for the year 2026 on tuesday. The calendar was formally unveiled by the Honourable Vice Chancellor and Patron, Dr. Pratap Singh.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Pratap Singh said that the calendar would prove to be an important document not only for farmers but also for livestock keepers, as it provides information on important dates, agricultural activities, and events throughout the year. He informed that the 2026 calendar is dedicated to International Women Farmers’ Prosperity, an important initiative aimed at recognizing and empowering the role of women in global agriculture.
Useful Guide for Farmers of Mewar–Vagad Region
Director of Extension Education and Mentor, Dr. R. L. Soni, stated that the MPUAT calendar is highly beneficial for farmers. It includes month-wise agricultural operations, details of crop pests and diseases, along with their control measures and recommended chemical dosages.
He added that the calendar has been specially prepared for farmers associated with Krishi Vigyan Kendras under MPUAT, including Banswara, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Udaipur-II, and Bhilwara-II. The recommendations are provided keeping in mind the local crops and farming practices of the region.
Dr. Soni emphasized that for farmers of the Mewar and Vagad divisions, this calendar would act as a true friend and guide. It provides season-wise information on sowing vegetables, fruits, and flowers, along with necessary precautions.
Valuable Information for Livestock Farmers
Highlighting its importance for animal husbandry, Dr. Soni said that since a good farmer is also a livestock keeper, the calendar contains useful information on cattle, buffalo, goat, poultry, sheep, and camel rearing. It also helps livestock keepers in providing primary treatment to sick animals at home.

Editor Dr. Yogesh Kanojia described the MPUAT calendar as comprehensive and versatile. He said it includes:
