Banswara to Host Its First-Ever Three-Day “Mahi Talk Fest”: A Grand Confluence of Ideas, Dialogue, and Culture

Banswara: Under the joint aegis of **Govind Guru Tribal University (GGTU)** and **Vishva Samvad Kendra, Udaipur**, a three-day **Mahi Talk Fest** will be organized from **23 to 25 January** at the university campus. The festival will bring together diverse dimensions of **education, literature, media, art, culture, and national consciousness** on a single platform.

Vice Chancellor of Govind Guru Tribal University, **Prof. Keshav Singh Thakur**, informed that for the first time in Banswara, **Mahi Talk Fest 4.0** is being organized on the theme **“Ekatma Bharat” (Integrated India)**. The festival will be a unique celebration of **ideas, culture, national awareness, and creative expression**. A variety of exhibitions, literary discussion sessions, cultural performances, and competitions will be organized during the fest.
A major highlight of the event is that, for the **first time in Banswara**, the **National Book Trust (NBT)** will organize a **three-day book fair**, where books from NBT and other renowned publishers will be available for readers.

### **Day One: Exhibition, Book Fair, and Folk Theatre**

Festival Coordinator and **Additional Director (Publicity), Police Headquarters**, **Dr. Kamlesh Sharma**, stated that on the evening of **23 January**, the festival will begin with the inauguration of an exhibition on **Tribal Heroes and the Constitution**, along with the **NBT Book Fair**, at the university campus.
The exhibition will showcase special visuals related to the **Indian Constitution and tribal heroes**, while the book fair will feature more than **2,000 books across 500 titles** on diverse subjects from NBT and other publishers.

In the evening, at the **Municipal Corporation Auditorium**, the renowned folk theatre artist from the Mewar region, **Amit Gameti**, will present the play **“Gavari Sadhna”**, depicting tribal culture and spiritual traditions in a vibrant theatrical form.

### **Day Two: Centenary Tribute to Kakori and Intellectual Dialogues**

On **Saturday, 24 January**, the formal inaugural session of the fest will be held. Renowned academician and media expert, **Prof. Amitabh Srivastava**, Head of the Department of Culture and Media Studies at **Central University of Rajasthan**, will deliver a dialogue on the theme of **Community Radio**.

In the afternoon, as a **centenary tribute to the historic Kakori Train Action of 1925**, the short film **“Kakori”**, directed by **Kamlesh K. Mishra**, will be screened. This will be followed by a discussion on **Digital Content** by **Yogesh and Prabhav**, and a **drawing competition** on the theme of **Tribal Heroes**.

In the third session, **Prof. Nandkishore Pandey**, Vice Chancellor of **Shri Haridev Joshi University of Journalism**, will deliver a lecture on **Folk Literature**. After the session, artists from **Ratlam** will present an exciting **Mallakhamb performance**.

Dr. Sharma added that a special attraction of the second day will be a play based on **Rani Abbakka**, prepared by **Deepak Bhardwaj**, portraying the inspiring story of the queen’s three-decade-long resistance against the Portuguese in the 16th century.

### **Day Three: Reels, Workshops, and National Consciousness**

The third and final day, **25 January**, will begin with a **Reels Making Competition** on the theme of **Civic Sense**. This will be followed by workshops on **“The Art of Reading”** and **Media and Social Concerns**, conducted by **Mrs. Ruchi Shrimali** from Udaipur.

In the subsequent dialogue session, **Indushekhar Tatpurush**, former Chairman of the **Rajasthan Sahitya Akademi**, will speak on **“150 Years of Anand Math and Vande Mataram.”**

The major cultural highlight of the final day will be a **musical storytelling performance** by renowned storyteller **Bharti Dixit** from **Adi Shankaracharya, Indore**.

### **Valedictory Session: Dialogue on 100 Years of National Service**

The festival will conclude in the presence of eminent nationalist thinker **Shri Nimbaaram Ji**, who will present a thought-provoking dialogue on the theme **“100 Years of National Service.”**

### **Volunteers’ Training and Team Meeting at GGTU Today**

Secretary of Vishva Samvad Kendra, **Praveen Kotiya**, informed that under the guidance of **Patron Madan Mohan Tank**, the core team of Mahi Talk Fest—comprising **Dr. Rajshree Chaudhary, Dr. Sunil Khatik, Naresh Yadav, Vikas Chhajed, Mrs. Ruchi Shrimali, and Kanan Rathore**—along with the university organizing committee members **Prof. Rajesh Joshi, Prof. Narendra Paneri, and Dr. Rakesh Damor**, and a dedicated team of volunteers, is making extensive preparations.

The outreach team has contacted various colleges, schools, and hostels across the city to encourage maximum participation. A **volunteers’ training session** will be held today at **12 noon**, followed by a **team meeting at 1:30 pm** at the university campus.
