Udaipur: Maharana Mewar Vidya Mandir, Udaipur, hosted an **inter-school football competition** on Saturday at the school’s newly constructed grand sports ground. The event began with a patriotic musical performance by the school band, playing the tune of *“Sare Jahan Se Achha Hindustan Hamara.”*
The **inaugural ceremony** saw the presence of **Shakeel Ahmed**, Secretary of the Udaipur Football Association, as the chief guest. Also present were **Dr. Mayank Gupta**, CEO of the school management, **Satish Kumar Sharma**, Honorary Director, and **Ajay Nagar**, Head of Human Resources.
A total of **16 teams** from various city schools participated in the tournament, which was conducted according to **AIFF (All India Football Federation) rules**. The semi-finalists were **St. Paul School, St. Gregorius School, CPS, and Witty International School**.
In the first semi-final, **St. Paul School defeated Witty International School 5–0**, while in the second semi-final, **St. Gregorius School beat CPS 1–0**. The final match saw **St. Paul School triumph over St. Gregorius School 2–1**, claiming the championship trophy, while St. Gregorius School finished as runners-up.
Individual awards were also presented: **Kavyaraj Chaudhary of St. Gregorius School** was named **Best Player**, and **Yuvin Sahitya of St. Paul School** was declared **Best Goalkeeper**. Certificates, medals, and trophies were awarded to both the winning and runner-up teams.
The **closing ceremony** was graced by **District Sports Officer Mahesh Paliwal** as chief guest. The guests were welcomed by the school principal **Mrs. Pratima Sharma** and **Gajendra Sharma**, who praised the players for their skill, discipline, and sportsmanship. Teachers and students from the school were also present to witness and support the event.
