Lalit Garg to be Honored with the ‘Patrakar Shiromani’ Award
New Delhi: Senior journalist, litterateur, and social thinker Lalit Garg will be conferred with the prestigious ‘Patrakar Shiromani’ Award in recognition of his more than four decades of creative, value-based, and public-interest-oriented contributions to journalism. The honour will be bestowed by Shrut Seva Nidhi Trust, a reputed institution dedicated to Jain philosophy, literature, and social consciousness.
The award ceremony will be held on February 8, 2026, at the Aksharabhiṣek Utsav organized at the well-appointed auditorium of Firozabad Club Limited, Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh.
According to the Trust’s General Secretary, Mr. Amit Kumar Jain, under the Shrimati Shantidevi Gupta Shrut Seva Alankaran, Shri Garg will be honoured with a cash award of ₹25,000, a citation, a shawl, a garland, a certificate of appreciation, and a set of literary works.
Journalists, writers, academicians, and social workers from across the country will participate in the ceremony. The objective of the event is to underline the core values of literature and journalism, social responsibility, and the role of the media in nation-building.
Lalit Garg has been continuously active in the fields of journalism, literature, and writing for the past 40 years and is widely regarded as a distinguished and respected intellectual figure in the national capital, Delhi. Through his fearless, thought-provoking, and value-driven writings, he has consistently guided public consciousness on social, cultural, and national issues. He has edited several reputed journals and magazines, and many of his books have been published.
Shri Garg is actively associated with various social and cultural organizations. Currently, he serves as the Executive Chairman of Suryanagar Educational Society and the President of Sukhi Parivar Foundation. Through the Sukhi Parivar Foundation, numerous initiatives related to tribal welfare, social empowerment, and family values are being implemented in Gujarat and other regions. He has also been associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh for a long time and has consistently expressed nationalist thought, cultural consciousness, and social harmony through his writings and life’s work.
According to the office-bearers of the organizing institution, this honour is being conferred upon Lalit Garg in recognition of his principled journalism, literary contributions, and deep social commitment. Considerable enthusiasm is being observed in journalistic and literary circles regarding the upcoming ceremony.
